Ellen Johnston
Ellen Johnston is a trial attorney who represents individuals and families harmed by the acts of others. Licensed to practice law in Alabama and Texas, she is proud to represent clients in her home state.
Originally from Fairhope, Alabama, Ellen’s practice focuses entirely on representing plaintiffs in civil litigation matters. Growing up on the Alabama Gulf Coast shaped her belief that lawyers should be accessible, practical, and deeply committed to the people they represent. She approaches every case with the understanding that behind every claim is a person whose life has been disrupted by an injury or injustice.
Before returning to Alabama, Ellen spent three years practicing in Texas as a plaintiff’s employment trial attorney, representing employees in complex litigation in state and federal court. Her work involved cases alleging discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and employment contract violations.
Ellen earned her Juris Doctor from Tulane Law School, where she distinguished herself in the Trial Advocacy Program and ranked in the top ten percent of her class in trial advocacy coursework. During law school, she was licensed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to practice as a Student Attorney in the Juvenile Advocacy Clinic, where she represented young clients in court and gained hands-on experience in litigation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy.
Before attending law school, Ellen graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public and Professional Writing and a minor in Counseling. Her background in writing and counseling sharpened her ability to communicate clearly, analyze complex issues, and guide clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Ellen is known for her strong writing, strategic thinking, and commitment to her clients. She approaches every case with preparation and determination, working to ensure her clients feel supported and informed throughout the legal process.
